Our Career Map Journey Has Begun!

The very first session of our Facework Ukraine training was dedicated to building a Career Map — a personal roadmap that helps participants see where they are now, where they want to go, and which steps will take them there.
We began with self-discovery: getting to know ourselves better and identifying our “edge” — those unique personal and professional traits that make each participant stand out as a candidate. This included recognising strengths, qualities, and past experiences, as well as being honest about weaknesses and limitations. After all, real confidence starts with knowing yourself.
From there, we moved to goal-setting. Using the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound), each participant defined both short-term and long-term career goals. They explored questions like: If there were no barriers, what would I do? What first steps can I take now?
The highlight of the session was creating a personal Career Map — a one-page plan with three parts:
Current position (skills, experiences, resources)
Destination (career aspiration or goal)
Pathways (steps, training, networking, and job search strategies)
Participants then shared their draft maps with peers, receiving encouragement and constructive feedback. By the end of the session, everyone had a clearer vision of their career journey and one concrete action to take this week.

Please also bring a description of your preferred job vacancy and your basic CV. We will use these materials in our next session to begin shaping your CV and tailoring it to real opportunities.
