Our third Facework Ukraine session focused on a crucial stage of the employment journey — the job interview. Building on what participants had already developed in their CVs, we explored how to transform written experience into spoken confidence.

From CV to Conversation
Every CV tells a story on paper, but an interview demands that story to be told out loud. Participants learned how to identify key achievements from their CVs and translate them into clear, engaging answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
We discussed how to anticipate typical UK-style interview questions, what employers really want to hear, and how to link personal values and motivation with the organisation’s culture.
Using AI Wisely
A key focus of this session was critical awareness. While AI can generate sample questions, help structure responses or check tone and language, it cannot replace personal authenticity.
Participants practised using AI tools as sparring partners, not as substitutes — testing themselves in realistic mock interviews, reflecting on feedback, and adapting their stories in their own words.
Understanding the British Interview Context
Tariq Malik shared insider insights into how British employers think: the emphasis on clarity, teamwork, accountability, and self-reflection. We compared interview styles, discussed “tricky” questions, and explored what signals genuine engagement in British work culture.
Key Takeaways
Your CV is your foundation, but your voice brings it to life.
AI can support your preparation, but not define your story.
Confidence grows through practice, reflection, and understanding context.
Every interview is not only an evaluation — it’s a conversation about value.
The session ended with participants creating their own “Interview Frameworks” — personal maps connecting their CV bullet points to potential questions and STAR-based answers.
