The third cohort of Facework Ukraine training which was run by Facework Group with the financial support of Lewisham Council completed and we celebrated the graduation of our trainees and their success.
27 of our trainees received the certificates for completing the training, as they attended more than 70% of the sessions of the training, and gaining important Employability skills to succeed in their further employment and careers. We look forward to seeing you soon to hear more about your career achievements.
We are immensely grateful for the valuable contribution made by the Ukrainian speakers during the training program - Researcher at UCL School of management Natalia Hrytsiuk, Employment Advisor Anastasiia Trubkina, ESOL Lecturer and Employability Coach Zoryana Burmas, Employment Litigation Consultant Julia Splavska, HR manager Angela Savchenko, Montessori Nursery Teacher Anastasiia Zhytska. Their involvement added an extra layer of expertise and cultural understanding to the learning experience.
The Ukrainian speakers brought a unique perspective and in-depth knowledge of the job market in the UK, employment practices, and cultural nuances. They shared their personal experiences, success stories, and practical insights, which greatly enriched the training sessions.
We celebrated upcoming Christmas holidays, singing Ukrainian carols. The most well-known carol in the world - Shchedrivka - sounded that evening in Ukrainian and in English as well.
Even in the darkest times, very far from home Ukrainians gather together to carol and wish everyone the best, raising money for good causes such as the production of candles for the Ukrainian armed forces. These candles serve as both light and heaters in trenches all around the frontline. May the light of these candles illuminate the darkness and bring hope for Victory and peace in Ukraine!
Many thanks to Olena Naumenko, Solomiia Baranets, Olga Kucherenko, Anzhela Savchenko, Kateryna Ozatska, and the deepest gratitude to Anna Svietik for volunteering.
Our trainees also received gifts. Outline - People Portraiture generously gave some of the 50 participants a free professional head shot so they can renew their job search with confidence and pride.
Elliott Sparks and Jonathan Smith from Outline say:
"Coming along to the Facework Group Ukraine project on Thursday and meeting wonderful Ukrainians who have had to resettle here in the UK was so humbling. Their resilience and courage in trying to find work and integrate here is inspiring. For us to help them by gifting a professional headshot will, we hope, help them further to boost their confidence and support them in their job search. What Facework does is amazing and we were so happy to help.”
This support was invaluable and a really good example of how we can be more creative and targeted in the support we give to those who are furthest from the labour market.
